Challenge Guidelines
Here are some of the books I might read for this challenge. I can’t promise I will start and/or finish all of these, it’s just a tentative list. And I will no doubt discover new dystopias in 2016 that I’ll choose to read. I’ll also gladly take suggestions 😀
| Shatter Me | Daughter of Smoke & Bone * | Lockdown | Red Rising | An Ember in the Ashes | Beauty Queens | Unwind | 172 Hours on the Moon | Legend | Angelfall |
* Someone answered my question on Twitter about Daughter of Smoke & Bone right when I finished making this picture, saying it’s not really a dystopian novel, so I won’t count it. I’ll still read it in 2016 though.
Can the rest of these be counted as dystopian novels? You tell me, I’m just going by what I’ve heard or what they’re listed as on Goodreads. I guess I’ll figure that out as I read them.
I picked 172 Hours on the Moon because it’s Norwegian and I haven’t read any Norwegian sci-fi or dystopias before, so that’s going to be interesting. It’s also been ages since I read an actual book in Norwegian.
Are you joining this challenge? What dystopian books should I read in 2016? Do you know of any 2016 releases that seem good? Do tell!
Good luck! I’m Dysto-fic’ed out or I’d give it a go.

I get you, there have been so many dystopian books lately. I’m behind on reading them though so this challenge will be a good way for me to catch up. Check out the same people’s 2016 horror challenge though! Maybe that’s more your speed 🙂

I love dystopias, and look forward to this challenge 🙂 I hadn’t heard of the Norwegian book… I need to check it out, because I hardly ever read in Norwegian anymore.
Good luck in reaching your goal, Anette 🙂

I look forward to it too 😀 Are you Norwegian too? Eeeeey. Ironically enough I found out about this book because a lot of American bloggers/booktubers have read it, hahaha.

I love dystopians, although I haven’t been reading as many lately. Legend and An Ember in the Ashes were fantastic though, so I hope you get a chance to read them!! I haven’t read any of the others you mentioned, but I’ve been really wanting to read Red Rising and I’ve heard amazing things about it. This looks like a great challenge and I’ve been thinking of doing it as well. Good luck with the challenge and I hope you enjoy all the dystopias! 🙂

I’ve heard lots of great things about An Ember in the Ashes too, as well as The Darkest Minds, which I forgot to add to the list 😀 I hope you end up doing it too!

I’ve heard lots of good things about Angelfall, can’t wait to see what all the fuss is about. I don’t think I’ve heard of Sunset Rising, but noted! The synopsis sounds intriguing 😀
