Top Ten Tuesday | “Spring” TBR

top ten tuesday blog

This weekly meme was was created by The Broke and the Bookish. This today’s theme is a “Ten books on my spring TBR“.

I don’t really have a spring TBR. And where I live it’s still pretty much the middle of winter, so I don’t even have spring on my mind. But here are some books I want to get to next.

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray

beauty queens libba brayThis just seems like so much fun. Beauty contestants stranded on an island? Sounds like the reality show Robinson, you might have a version of it in your country too. And how amazing is this cover? I want it framed. .

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

illuminaeWho’s not talking about Illuminae lately? It’s everywhere, the hype is real. I read the first few pages and it seems promising.

Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas

dangerous girls abigail haasI’m really into books and TV shows about dangerous killer teens (think Pretty Little Liars and How to Get Away With Murder). Accidental murder or not. I just finished reading The Basic Eight, a book about a teenage girl who murdered her crush on Halloween, and now I want to get to this next because I actually had this on my tbr first.

The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton

the strange and beautiful sorrows of ava lavenderThis is another one that’s been on my tbr for quite some time. I’ll get to this fairly soon, I think.

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

crown of midnightIt’s no secret that me and Throne of Glass didn’t really get along, just read my review. But everyone and their mother claims it gets better from there, so I’m going to try. Cross your fingers for me because I bought the next two books (there was a sale, okay????).

Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor

days of blood and starlightI loved the first book in this series so damn much [review]. I need to order this online because I can’t find it anywhere else grrr. Can’t wait to see what happens. God damn you, Akiva.

The Harry Potter series by JK Rowling

prisoner of azkaban original coverFull series re-read! I’m so excited. I don’t think I’ve ever actually re-read the entire series before, like in order. I’ve read all the books several times individually, but never gone through 1-7 in order. But I’m doing that now 😀 I just finished Chamber of Secrets today and I’m super excited to pick up PoA because it’s been so long since I read that one.

What are you reading next? Have you read any of the books on my TBR?

I really need to read some Libba Bray, I’ve heard such great things about her books. OMG read Illuminae!! I feel like you’re going to really enjoy it but I don’t want to hype it more than it already has been haha

Another person who didn’t enjoy Throne of Glass! Me too, haha. I’ve read Crown of Midnight though and I’d say it’s better, though Book 3 and 4 disappointed me again. I don’t really know why I’m still sticking with this series, but I hope you enjoy CoM. 🙂

I’m in the middle of my Harry Potter reread too! I’m on Goblet of Fire. I hope you enjoy CoM more than you liked ToG. I’m on Heir of Fire and I’m actually thinking of starting it this or next week.

Ahh, Illuminae. Everything about that book is genius (and the humor in it is so on point). IT’S BASICALLY THE MOST AMAZING BOOK EVER. Ooh and Crown of Midnight is my favorite in the ToG series so I really hope you enjoy! 😀

I have Illuminae on my list as well. Everyone seems to be loving it and I can’t wait to see what everyone is talking about. I just hope I love it as much as them!

Great list! I loved the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy- hope you enjoy the rest of it! And I’m one of those people that wasn’t as enamoured by the first Throne of Glass, but enjoyed the rest of the series- hope you do to!

I can’t wait for you to finish (1) Dreams of Gods and Monsters and (2) Dangerous Girls! Dangerous girls was just so good that I didn’t need much convincing to order her second book – Dangerous Boys.
