Hello everyone, I’m here with another WWW Wednesday post. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Samantha @ Taking On a World of Words where you answer the following questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently reading
I’m still reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone. It’s going a bit slowly because I keep getting distracted by other things. I’m about halfway through and I’m absolutely loving it even though I’m going slowly. I kind of like savoring this world too, it’s just wonderful to read about.
I’m also reading Crush by Richard Siken. It’s a collection of poems, and I never read poetry unless I have to because it’s not really my thing. The only times I’ve read poetry is when I had to for class (which was often, as I have an MA in English literature). But this dude’s poems have been all over tumblr for years, plastered over sappy gifsets and the like, and I always thought they were nice so I went for it. I’m absolutely loving most of these poems, TOO BEAUTIFUL.
Recently finished
Room by Emma Donoghue. I enjoyed it a lot though it was a bit slow here and there. This weekend I watched the movie and it was so emotional, almost more emotional than the book because the movie allowed us to see more of Ma and her reactions to things. And I just feel so bad for Ma.

I might get to something before this, but I might not. We’ll see. I’m buddy reading Throne of Glass (my first read-along, yay!) with Trang from Bookidote, Luke Taylor, and Lora Shouse from Ettria.
I’m looking forward to finally start this book, but I’m having suspicions that I might not fall head over heels with it. But maybe I’m wrong!
What are your three Ws this week? Let me know what you’re reading 😀

Throne of Glass is good, but the series gets better with each book – so if you find it entertaining, I’d advise you to stick with it 🙂
The writing and world building in Daughter of Smoke and Bone is amazing. I had issues with other things (that I won’t say to avoid spoilers), but those are two things I thought were spot on. Loved the choice of Prague as the setting too.

I’ve heard that about the ToG series so I’d give the rest a chance if I happen to not be convinced by the first one 😀 The only thing I’m eh about in Laini Taylor’s book is Akiva. I’m not sure I need a romance in this book to keep me interested, but we’ll see what happens! I love the Prague setting too, I’ve been there and it’s a beautiful city.

I’m glad you liked Room. I absolutely loved the film and think that Brie Larson was amazing as Ma. She deserves all the awards she’s winning! It was so emotional.

Brie Larson was amazing, she really made me feel for the character. Jacob Tremblay was incredibly good too, what an amazing child actor!

I’m glad to hear you liked the movie for ‘Room.’ It’s one I’ve been wanting to see because I, too, loved the book. Seeing Ma go through that will be hard but I’m told it’s wonderfully acted. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

I have daughter of smoke and bone on my shelf too and it sounds so disappointing now that I know you can get distracted easily while reading it. Is the plot not that captivating? Love your blog and definitely followed. I would appreciate it if you checked out mine 🙂

Oh no, don’t listen to me! XD That’s basically how I am with almost every book I read. My reading motivation fluctuates a lot and it’s got little to do with the book I’m reading. The book is actually very captivating and different, and I’m not usually that into high fantasy but I love everything about this fantasy world. The only thing I’m iffy about is the romance, but that’s my personal taste. You should definitely read it!! Thanks for following! 🙂
